Electrode Cleaning
Quote from ahspragu on 25 April 2024, 23:45Hello!
Are there any recommended procedures for cleaning the HD-EMG electrodes? We have been using alcohol pads to clean the electrodes after use, but we have noticed a white layer building up on our older electrodes (see picture). We think this is likely due to the repeated removal of adhesive pads and are concerned that this could possibly contribute to noise.
Thanks!

The recommended procedure for cleaning HDsEMG electrodes is to use a wet cloth and then dry the surface of the electrodes.
Any residues of conductive cream must be removed from the surface of the electrode after use; long exposure to liquids and creams can, in fact, oxidize the surface of the electrodes, increasing the contact impedance and resulting in poor signal quality.
Alcohol can be used to disinfect the electrode grids.Thank you!
