IMU sensor

Hello All..

I wish to know the method for IMU sensor in Due+ probe calibration ?

Is there a specific setting in the software for calibration ?

when placing the probe on the body shall i align it in a specific orientation or what is the procedure ?

Thanks in advance

Hello,

there is an automatic internal calibration of the IMU sensor inside the Due+ probe. This calibration runs in background and involves the accelerometer, gyroscope, and magnetometer. No manual calibration procedure is required, and there is no specific feedback from the software confirming when the calibration has been completed.

The internal algorithm automatically adjusts the calibration while the sensor is operating. In practice, the IMU refines its calibration when the probe is kept still in a stable position for a few seconds (for accelerometer and gyroscope) and through slow, smooth movements (for magnetometer calibration).

The IMU is mainly intended for cyclic movements, which can be visualized through the quaternions.
In the software, you can use the “3D Inertial View” function (available when selecting the quaternion channels) to:
- visualize the probe orientation in 3D,
- use the “reset orientation” option to define a reference position,
- and, if needed, convert quaternions into Euler angles.

You can align the probes according to a reference position, and the software will then provide quaternion data relative to that orientation

Kind regards,
Valentina
